Rachael Leathley

Rachael studied Law at Northumbria University. She qualified as a Solicitor in 2014 and has since specialised in Private Client dealing with succession planning, Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Inheritance Tax planning. Rachael also deals with the administration of Trusts and the administration of complex Estates.
Rachael is a Senior Associate Solicitor at EMG Solicitors and a full member of STEP having passed the associated examinations with Distinction. Rachael is also an Ambassador for the Community Foundation for Tyne & Wear and Northumberland currently sitting on the panel for the Women’s Fund.
Rachael led Newcastle Law Society’s contributions to the consultation on electronic Wills, and the call for evidence in connection to Probate Matters. She also contributed to the consultation on digitising Lasting Powers of Attorney with the Office of the Public Guardian. Her main interest is developing the existing community of Private Client Solicitors in the North East, and how the profession can be shaped for the better in the future.
