Help Shape our Legal Curriculum - Join Newcastle College’s Employer Advisory Board

We pride ourselves on our strong connections with the legal industry. We recognise the invaluable role that industry partnerships play in enriching our students' educational experiences and enhancing their employability. As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence, we are inviting law firms in the region to join our Employer Advisory Board.

By becoming a member of the Employer Advisory Board, your firm can play a crucial role in shaping the future of legal education at Newcastle College. Your insights and expertise will help ensure our programmes remain aligned with industry needs and standards. Furthermore, your support will help us on our journey in the planning stages of the T Level in Legal Services Assistant Crime, Criminal Justice and Social Welfare, which we will start to deliver in September 2025.

Support Our Students: Be a Part of Their Journey

In addition to advisory roles, we are seeking support from law firms for a range of activities designed to ensure our learners are industry ready. Your firm can contribute to their development in several impactful ways, including:

  • Guest Speakers: Share your knowledge and experience with our students by delivering guest lectures or participating in panel discussions.
  • Work Experience: Offer placements that provide students with hands-on experience in a professional legal environment.
  • Industry Visits: Host educational visits to your offices or related institutions to give students a behind-the-scenes look at the workings of the legal system.
  • Support with Assessments/Assessment Design: Assist in the development and evaluation of assessments to ensure they reflect real-world legal challenges and standards.

Your involvement will not only benefit our students but also provide your firm with the opportunity to engage with and mentor future talent, potentially identifying future employees who are well prepared for the demands of the legal profession.
