Newcastle Law Society are hosting a roundtable meeting for Managing Partners, Heads of Office and HR Managers on Tuesday 3rd of December in collaboration with Muckle LLP and The University of Law to specifically discuss the following:-
The new centralised assessment process, the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), was introduced in September 2021 and is set to replace the Legal Practice Course (LPC).
Amid rising anxiety about this transition and a concerning success rate of only 44% in the recent SQE 1 examinations, we invite you to participate in a discussion aimed at sharing your experiences in supporting aspiring solicitors through this examination process.
We are particularly interested in gathering your insights for submission to Kaplan and the SRA regarding the impact of the SQE on individuals, firms, and the legal profession as a whole. What changes can we advocate to enhance the well-being and accessibility of the profession for both current and future solicitors?
This lunchtime meeting will be held at the office of Muckle LLP (Time Central, 32 Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4BF). Please arrive at 12pm for a light lunch, the meeting will commence at 12.30pm and finish by 2.00pm.
